Benjamin Mimee is a Research Scientist/Nematology at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec.  Dr. Mimeeā€™s work addresses issues related to the biology and control of plant parasitic nematodes using genomic and bimolecular approaches. His most recent projects focus on the development of a genotyping by sequencing pipeline for cyst nematode population genetics; transcriptomic analyses of hatching and survival of potato cyst nematodes; population genetics of the soybean cyst nematode; as well as metagenomics evaluation of the impact of agricultural practices on nematodes and microbial biodiversity. Dr. Mimee received a PhD in Plant Pathology from Laval University in 2008 and was a post-doctoral fellow at the Horticulture Research Center in Quebec City, prior to joining Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada in 2011.
